To reduce the environmental impacts of greenhouse gas emissions, and to aid sustainable development, there is a need to support low carbon technologies, especially from renewable sources. The ocean is a vast and largely untapped energy resource, which can potentially supply the global electricity demand. Therefore, an emerging eld of the marine renewable energy industry has initiated, and such expertise is increasingly on-demand. Recently, a coordinated strategy for developing inter- Disciplinary ocean renewable energy program at URI has been formed to promote research and education in this area (Ocean Renewable Energy Cluster). This course can serve as a stepping stone for graduate/undergraduate students from various disciplines, who are interested in the technical and environmental aspects of ocean renewable energy. It applies knowledge they have learned across multiple courses in an exciting new area.
In this course, participants will be sensitized to the recent trends in public relations and develop their skills to carry out contemporary roles and practice of public relations and to identify the structure of the optimal organization and responsibilities of employees of the public relations departments, planning and follow-up work in public relations departments, develop and motivate the performance of employees, planning and organizing a ceremony of reception and bidding Visitors and VIPs, develop effective communication with customers and employees, how to arrange concerts, seminars, and banquets. This program is concerned with the development of the skills and abilities of the Public Relations Manager. Therefore, the program offers a set of training and concepts necessary to build constructive relationships inside and outside the institution based on scientific bases in building this relationship and planning it and study the extent of the institution's place in the hearts of employees on the one hand and the surrounding community. The program is concerned with providing the man of communication skills and effective communication with others as one of the elements of building relationships and what are the means to improve the internal structure of the institution and the network of formal and informal relations. The program also provides the trainee with the skills required to make presentations and to negotiate partnerships with relevant institutions through meetings, presentations and cooperation, and partnership agreements.

This course is designed to teach general practices that should be followed in the laboratory such as providing safety contracts/ SOPs, identifying medical and allergy problems, posting and modeling all safety procedures, knowing district and state policies concerning reporting injuries, being familiar with fire regulations, posting and discussing emergency escapes, and providing personal protective equipment for all occupants and personnel.
Boilers and steam generating systems are considered highly complex elements of equipment which operate at very high pressures and temperatures. These demanding operating conditions require good quality of construction materials and professional fabrication. Safe and efficient operation of boilers requires that a special attention to be given to the reliability of equipment for steam generation as well as efficient steam system management. This course is intended to introduce delegates to safe operation of boiler units and the associated equipment for steam generation and steam distribution. Methods and techniques of energy saving related to efficient steam distribution system management will be explained in detail. The course will be primarily focused on practical aspects related to operation, control, maintenance and troubleshooting of problems encountered in boiler systems. The course will also cover reliability of boiler units, as well as on efficient management of the entire steam system. Practical examples and workshop exercises from real life industrial practice will be utilized throughout the training course to emphasize the key learning points.
